Health and Safety Risk Management

NEOM is committed to ensuring that everyone returns home from work each day in a safe and healthy condition. A key aspect of this commitment is NEOM’s ongoing focus on the management of significant health and safety risks. Although this section focuses on significant hazards, it should be emphasized that all hazards must be appropriately identified, assessed, and managed

MAGNA

Strategic Elements

Leadership & Culture

We will set the highest standards for HS&W leadership with a focus on innovation and transformation. We will work together as one team, showing genuine care for each other’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HS&W). We will demonstrate ownership, accountability, & active participation in H&S to ‘set the tone from the top’ & drive change. We will recognize and reward others for positive contributions to improving HS&W across our region

Governance

We will stablish effective organisations, governance structures & processes for H&S direction & assurance. We will eliminate unnecessary bureaucracy which may detract from efficiency of carrying out work safely. The requirements of our processes will be proportionate, with greater controls on high-risk activities, and more discretion when carrying out low-risk activities.

Critical Risk Management

Critical Risk Management will be the focus of our HS&W governance work. We will strive to understand critical risk work and ensure agreed controls are implemented as planned, without compromise. Integrate H&S in decision making, focus on control of critical risks & effective implementation of world class standards

Competency

We will strengthen and develop our team by employing Subject Matter Experts to support our critical activities. We will develop capabilities and awareness in HS&W, through training of our people

Improvement

We will continue to track injury statistics, but our focus for learning will be based on significant incidents as well as good practice identified during normal work carried out successfully. We will involve the workforce in solving problems to develop a positive and necessary attitude surrounding HS&W. We will create a climate where everyone understands the value of reporting events to improving HS&W performance and preventing accidents & incidents.

Significant Hazards and Behaviors

NEOM is committed to ensuring that everyone returns home from work each day in a safe and healthy condition. A key aspect of this commitment is NEOM’s ongoing focus on the management of significant health and safety risks. Although this section focuses on significant hazards, it should be emphasized that all hazards must be appropriately identified, assessed, and managed.

Magna Projects has identified 14 significant health and safety hazards within the Eltizam program that are applicable to all Magna projects and operating facilities where the associated activities, to each hazard, are being executed.

IPMT and Contractors must support the implementation of the Eltizam program and ensure that the significant hazards shown in Figure 3 are given particular attention.

Commitment

At MAGNA, we believe the Health, Safety & Wellbeing of our people is fundamental to our success. Our passion for safety and our commitment to care for one another and our environment inspires mutual respect.
